Get involved in Scottish Careers Week: Employers

Attract the talent of tomorrow and shape the future of your industry

Organise or support local career events

With jobs in demand across many sectors, Scottish Careers Week is a great opportunity to provide career inspiration and encourage people of all ages to explore exciting roles and pathways into your industry.

Whether in local schools, in your community, or online, here’s a few ways you could get involved this year:

  • organise a webinar to promote careers in your organisation
  • create blogs showcasing the different career journeys your employees have had
  • showcase careers in your organisation with short videos on social media
  • offer local workplace visits to schools or community groups
  • organise networking events in your workplace
  • provide work placements
  • host a skills demonstration in your local school
  • start mentoring pupils in your area or online with an interest in your industry

If you’d like to help build young people’s job readiness and grow their knowledge of the world of work through Scottish Careers Week and beyond, contact your local DYW group or visit Marketplace if you have an offer already created that you would like to promote.

Or you can find your local SDS centre and contact your local careers advisers to talk about your ideas for Scottish Careers Week events in your community.

You could organise a week of learning and development to highlight these opportunities to your team.

Showcase your support for your team and their career development through case studies and promote your stories online using #ScotCareersWeek24.
