Course description
You will develop your knowledge and understanding of the interactions taking place between humans and the environment, the Earth's resources and sustainability, through a scientific treatment of the principles of ecosystems and contemporary resource use by society as a whole.
You will study a range of broad and up-to-date ideas relevant to the increasingly important role of environmental science in society.
The implications of these interactions for the future wellbeing of the environment in its widest context will be a central theme of the course.
The course will develop your scientific knowledge and experience by its consideration of principles, methods, data collection, interpretation and analysis. Investigative fieldwork will be conducted in local areas.
A maximum of two SQA Higher and National subjects can be studied with UHI Inverness in one academic year.
Entry requirements
Candidates would normally be expected to have attained at least one of the following:-

Entry to many undergraduate courses (not necessarily related to environmental science/studies) at universities and institutes of further and higher education. At UHI Inverness there is scope for progression to HNC Applied Science, BSc Applied Science or BSc Environmental Science.
