This course will develop your understanding of children, their stages of development and how to care for them.
Course description
This course is for progressing students, mature school leavers and those who would like to gain childcare qualifications. You must be able to embrace diversity and be able to work as part of a team as well as work independently. A placement opportunity may be provided to students who demonstrate appropriate skills and values.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
This course is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programme. This means that you are required to have access to your own laptop computer, netbook or similar device in class each day that you are in college.
This may be funded or part-funded by a bursary, if you are eligible to receive one.
Entry requirements
- Two National 5 passes preferably including English (or equivalent)
Or
- Completion of a relevant SCQF Level 4 course
- Evidence of volunteering or placement is preferable, ideally within an early years or childcare environment (normally 20 hours)
- A clear PVG disclosure is required prior to placement allocation, organised by the College.
