What it's like
There are billions of devices in the world connected to the internet, collectively known as the internet-of-things. As an internet-of-things architect, you'll be:
designing the latest internet-ready devices
protecting crucial systems from hacking attempts
finding new business opportunities hidden in online data
Your tasks might include:
testing and selecting new data collection technologies such as sensors and actuators (sensors turn a physical input into an electrical output, and actuators do the opposite)
working with clients and other IT professionals
collecting and interpreting valuable business data from internet-connected devices
adapting to rapid technological change on the internet-of-things through continuous research and study
managing project timelines and budgets
