Work Inspiration and Preparation

VirtRural 2026

Step inside Scotland’s future land-based, aquaculture and environmental conservation careers! Join Lantra Scotland for this year’s VirtRural careers event on Tuesday 11th November, running online from 10:20 to 14:30. This event is ideal for teachers and school classes, as well as careers advisers, parents, DYW contacts and anyone looking to find out more about the exciting opportunities across these sectors.

This is also a brilliant opportunity for school classes across Scotland to watch together and bring careers education into the classroom in an engaging, real-world way. Pupils will hear directly from people working across the land and nature industries, discover the skills and pathways that can lead into these sectors, and see how they connect to exciting future careers.

Teachers can tune in with a whole class, a year group, a careers club or selected pupils. Drop in for the full programme or choose the sessions that best fit your timetable, curriculum and career interests. You will hear from industry professionals, learn about a wide variety of career routes, gain real-life insight, and have the opportunity to ask your own questions via the chat function.

Exciting Class Prize

The school class that asks the best question will win a FREE in-person hands-on Land and Nature STEM workshop for their class!
